Black female owned businesses have emerged as the fastest growing minority-owned business since 2007, boasting 42% of the new women-owned businesses while only accounting for 9% of the United States population.
Black women have made their mark by earning more undergraduate and terminal graduate degrees and becoming digital creators and online entrepreneurs.
Rarely acknowledged, Black women have changed the trajectory of their future (and subsequently)
the Black family.
Hats off to all the business owners who are women! Woman owned businesses have increased by 0.6%, accounting for 1.1 million businesses in the United States according to the 2021 United States Census Bureau’s Annual Business Survey.
That survey also revealed that the most populous state, California, has the most women lead businesses.
Women business owners juggle and overcome so much: domestic responsibilities, careers, unequal pay, unfair judgements, societal standards, and some add business to the mix. How? I’m sure the answer varies. One thing that for sure is that women entrepreneurs have a dynamic purpose!
